It is an interactive, educational experience which coves such areas as self esteem, friendships, believing in one's self, being your own person, reaching out to someone who is lonely, relationships with parents, sharing feelings, as well as understanding what a drug is and street-proofing concepts. The program compliments the Ontario School Curriculum. To obtain further information contact Council on Drug Abuse, 416-763-1491 or Heather D. Hodgson Schleich at 519-353-5779.
Youth Net Grey Bruce - A mental health promotion and illness prevention program for youth by youth. This program is facilitated by the Canadian Mental Health Association, Grey Bruce Branch. Trained facilitators meet with youth 12-20 years to help them assess their coping mechanisms to everyday stresses of life such as relationships, peer pressure, drinking, drugs and sex. Youth Net strives to increase communications about these issues, decrease the stigma around mental health issues and work with youth to get help if they need it.
